Updates with Dental Insurance!

Delta Dental

For most of our existing patients that are transitioning from Dr. Cobb nothing has changed! We remain an out-of-network office for most dental insurance companies – just as Dr. Cobb was.

The only dental insurance that has updated during the change in ownership is Delta Dental. Unfortunately, Delta Dental would not extend the previously contracted reimbursement rates to Dr. Sabo, which resulted in offered rates that are less than 50% of what Dr. Cobb was receiving!

At Piedmont Advanced Dentistry we pride ourselves on providing high-quality care and service in a comfortable and timely manner. Due to these contract changes, we felt that remaining in-network with Delta Dental would not allow us to provide the care you deserve.

We will continue to accept Delta Dental Insurance going forward and will take care of billing and insurance submissions for all of our patients. Once Delta Dental processes the claim, they will send reimbursement checks to our patients directly.

We understand that this is an additional source of confusion for our patients which is why we are happy to submit pre-authorizations, help with troubleshooting rejected claims, and help each and every one of our patients get the most value from their insurance policy. We are also extending our PAD 365 Membership plan to our Delta Dental patients and would be happy to explain that benefit in person or over the phone.

What’s New?
We are now considered Out-Of-Network Providers

What’s the Same?
We still accept Delta Dental, we still submit all claims, we still audit pending claims, we still fight rejected claims. Your coverage percentages for out-of-network providers is still accurate. We will still advocate for you!

What’s Different?
Delta Dental’s accepted out-of-network PPO fees are variable depending on the type of Delta Dental Plan and they will not disclose to us what fee’s they are willing to accept. This is why for any major treatment we will likely submit for pre-authorization from Delta (with your permission). Pre-authorizations help us provide you with more accurate insurance estimates and better estimates for your out of pocket expense.

Why the change?
Delta Dental is reducing reimbursement rates to providers which hinders the ability for us to provide high quality care… We believe in the value of excellent dentistry and insist on providing that to our patients.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us! Our team is happy to help you through this change and help you find a way to continue receiving excellent care and value in your dental treatment.
